You can earn money or Store Credit for your gear and apparel!

We focus on high quality gear/apparel that is ready for outdoor adventure! If you could find your gear/apparel at REI, CBS Sports, Great Outdoor Provision, Outdoor Supply Co, etc.- then we would want to resell it for you!!!

CONSIGNMENT TERMS 

1. Item intake

Items accepted for consignment must comply with the scope/market of Foothills Gear Garage (FG2). All materials accepted must be clean, undamaged and ready to show/sell. FG2 reserves the right to refuse items for consignment based on quality, cleanliness and suitability for sale (including appropriateness for the current season or exceeding store need). 

Foothills Gear Garage will determine a suitable selling price for all items; consignment prices will vary depending on item condition, type and market demand. Typically, items will be offered for sale at 50-70% of normal retail, but this can and will vary. 

As a consignor, you agree to leave all items for a minimum sale period of 30 days.

2. Payment to Consignors

Proceeds for sold consignment items will be disbursed as follows: 

-50/50 (consignor/consignee) for items <$1000 sale price, and

-60/40 (consignor/consignee) for items >$1000 sale price.

Checks will be mailed to consignors quarterly for items sold. Consignors can also elect for electronic payment to a personal bank account for a nominal fee. 

If a consignor elects to accept store credit for items sold, a 5% bonus will be awarded to the balance when purchasing items in the store. We do NOT pay cash on the spot for items.

3. Scheduled Discounting of Consignment Items

Foothills Gear Garage will, at its sole discretion, reduce an item’s price based on the time frames listed below:

Days 0-30: no reduction in price - item priced at fair market value (determined by FG2).

Days 31-60: an item’s price will be reduced by 10% of the original listed price. 

Days 61-90: an item’s price will be reduced by 25% of the original listed price. 

Days 91+: an item’s price will be reduced by 50% or more. 

Foothills Gear Garage reserves the right to reduce prices periodically for sales/promotional purposes. 

4. Consignment Expiration

Consignors are responsible for retrieving any unsold items on or before the 120 day expiration date. (Exception: all boats/SUPs/kayaks and bicycles will be marketed for up to 180 days). If items are not retrieved by 120 days (or 180 days for boats/SUPs/kayaks/bicycles), they will become property of Foothills Gear Garage, to either be sold at a further discounted price or donated to a local non-profit organization. Foothills Gear Garage will not contact consignors to notify them of the expiration date; consignors will have access to their account online to check item status/expiration. 

It is the consignor’s responsibility to check on the sales status of merchandise; this can be done through the consignors online account/portal.

Please call us the store or email to arrange for pick-up of your items. A lead time of 2 to 3 days will ensure that you do not have to wait for your items or return later when they have been retrieved. 

Foothills Gear Garage is not responsible for loss or damage to merchandise due to fire, theft or vandalism. The consignor agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Foothills Gear Garage from any and all liability, claims, suits, proceedings, demands, losses or damages of any nature. 

By presenting items to Foothills Gear Garage for consignment, the consignor accepts the terms/conditions listed above.
